velvet_mace so don't worry!
He knew what he was toying with.
He'd known for a long time, since the fight with Havoc's inhuman girlfriend had left the man severely injured.
Familiar faces and almost perfect replications hadn't fooled him after that. Not when a date knew something he'd told another date, something he would have at one point just brushed off as gossip. Little things, the kind that allowed him to follow how one date to another seemed to know more, tiny slips in actions that he once might have taken as coincidence.
When he stopped assuming those things, it became like a game to figure out when it was a lady he'd never dated, to when it was that elusive stranger that had decided to follow him in the form of one date to another. The game, after a few weeks time, took a sharp turn to the left, and he decided to break his rule, heading off towards home with the stranger. He didn't go far, getting them out of sight before he looked over the slender form of his date.
Her hair was long, dark enough it was almost tinted blue, and her eyes were a flawless green. A lovely, perfect figure with slim hips and a small bust... he was sure it was just as fake as every other. He didn't know what this elusive companion of his looked like.
He swung her so her back was to the wall, his hands fanned against her hips. When he saw a triumphant smile forming, he spoke, voice low and gruff. "What do you really look like?"
The smile instantly vanished, jade green eyes narrowing as she pushed him away in one quick action. Her voice showed how unhappy she was with the sudden turn of things. "Really, what kind of question is that to ask a lady?"
Roy barely caught his balance, almost falling. The shove had been far stronger than he'd really expected. "I don't know. Are you really a lady?"
She turned, long hair hiding her face. It looked almost green for a moment before she turned to walk away from him. "No. I'm no lady."
She was gone before he could demand more answers.
